Vital Leeds United will once again be keeping you up to date with all the transfer rumours during the summer with a weekly update.

It has been another interesting week in the Leeds transfer market with one player joining, two former players linked with a return and once again a number of foreign imports linked with a move to Elland Road.

Former defender Alex Bruce and winger Max Gradel have been linked with a return to Leeds this week.

Bruce has enjoyed a successful two-years with Hull City following his release by Leeds in the summer of 2012, helping the tigers win promotion to the Premier League as well as reaching last season`s FA Cup final.

Gradel is looking for a return to English football three years after leaving Leeds. The Ivory Coast international featured in this summer`s World Cup finals and he has been linked with AFC Bournemouth earlier this month but his agent now says that a number of English clubs are interested in him.

Cardiff City defender Mark Hudson is believed to be on the radar of Leeds but they face strong competition from Premier League Crystal Palace.

The 32-year-old was an integral part of the Cardiff defence that won promotion from the Championship in 2013 but he made just two appearances for the side in the Premier League last season.

Exciting young Liverpool winger Jordan Ibe has been linked with a season long loan move to Leeds. The 18-year-old, who scored against Leeds in the FA Youth Cup in 2013, spent the end of last season on loan at Birmingham City and Liverpool could be looking for another loan move for him this season.

One player linked with Leeds this week who raised a few eyebrows was Nile Ranger. The striker has been released by Swindon Town as off-field problems continue to dog his career and he was reported to be having a trial with Leeds. Owner Massimo Cellino stated towards the end of the week that Ranger would not be coming to Elland Road.

Now to Italy and Ac Milan duo Rodrigo Ely and Zan Bendicic have been linked with a move to Leeds.

20-year-old Brazilian defender Ely is yet to make a senior appearance for Milan and he has spent the past two seasons out on loan at Reggina and Varese. He made 27 appearances for Reggina during the 2012/13 season before making 39 appearances for Varese last season.

18-year-old Slovenian midfielder Bendicic is still to make a senior appearance for Milan although he has represented his country at under-21 level.

Cristiano Piccini is a 21-year-old defender who is contracted to Serie A side Fiorentina.

He made his one and only appearance for Fiorentina in 2010 and he has spent much of the past on loan at Carrarese, Spezia and Livorno. He spent last season with Livorno where he made 20 appearances in Serie A.

Now on to the players who will not be joining. Andre Blackman will not be offered a deal by Leeds after failing to impress during the pre-season trip to Italy.

Giuseppe Bellusci will not be joining from Italian side Catania. Leeds and Catania agreed a deal for Bellusci but they could not agree personal terms and Leeds have now pulled out of the deal.

Robin Quaison was linked with a move from Swedish side AIK last week but he put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal at Palermo this week.

Catching up with a few players linked with Leeds who have moved to new clubs in the past few weeks. Republic of Ireland defender Steven Reid has joined Premier League Burnley following his release by West Brom.

Chelsea defender Sam Hutchinson has joined Yorkshire neighbours Sheffield Wednesday after enjoying a loan spell at Hillsborough last season.

Defender Marios Oikonomou joined Italian Serie B side Bologna from Cagliari at the start of the month.

Armando Izzo joined Serie A side Genoa this week from Avellino.

One player who looks like he will not be joining is Rochdale Striker Scott Hogan who is on the verge of joining Brentford after being linked with Leeds since the start of the summer.

Two players released by Leeds last season are with new clubs. Veteran midfielder Michael Brown has joined Port Vale on a one-year deal whilst young winger Gboly Ariyibi has joined Premier League Burnley on trial.

So far this summer, Leeds have been linked with 76 players with only 35 of them playing in the English leagues.

Leeds have completed the signing of five players whilst twelve players have either moved to a new club or extended their contract with their current club.

Leeds have pulled out of deals for three players. Andre Blackman and Jonathan Rossini had unsuccessful trials whilst they could not agree personal terms with Giuseppe Bellusci.

Of the ten players who finished last season at Elland Road to be linked with clubs, only Matt Smith and Sam Byram remain at Elland Road. Ross McCormack is the only player to leave Leeds in a cash deal whilst Lee Peltier, Marius Zaliukas, Luke Varney, Paul Green, Michael Brown, Cameron Stewart and Gboly Ariyibi were all free agents.

All the players listed have been mentioned in the national press or by an established website and not someone who is supposedly ITK who has an auntie in the ticket office whose daughter goes out with a youth team player, if you know what I mean.

If you see any players linked with a move to or away from Elland Road then please let us know on Vital Leeds.
