Leeds’ transfer plans are scuppered but having to spend extra on alternative might be good

|

The Whites finally get back out on that pitch this afternoon as we take on Millwall in the Sky Bet Championship.

The title race has been a fantastic watch so far and the Whites are still in it but both Sheffield United and Norwich City are strong too.

It is going to be some battle, then, but hopefully we will be able to win it.

One battle we appear to have lost, though, is the one for Jake Hastie. The winger was linked with us by the Daily Record not so long ago but it seems as though he has chosen a different path.

He is out of contract in the summer with Motherwell in the summer and Football Insider is saying Rangers have agreed terms with him.

This, though, is not a big blow for us.

He’s a good player and we need extra wingers for sure but there are better options out there – even if we have to spend more money to get them in.

Daniel James or Callum O’Dowda, for example, would provide the same attacking thrust but with knowledge of the English game and with that extra physicality – I don’t think Hastie would be able to just yet.
