According to numerous reports, Leeds United are ready to offer their summer target an escape route out of Italy.

As per LeedsLive, Jesse Marsch is looking into a move for summer target Charles De Ketelaere after the striker snubbed the Whites and chose to go to the Italian champions instead. It is believed, Leeds have made contact with AC Milan over a possible January move. The former Club Brugge striker, who netted 14 goals and provided nine assists in a stunning 2021/2022 campaign, caught the eye of clubs around Europe with Leeds reportedly having a bid of around £30m accepted for the 21-year-old. Ultimately the player chose Milan and Champions League football.

Things haven’t gone to plan for the striker so far though, failing to score in 18 league games for the Rossoneri and according to TeamTalk, Leeds have asked to be kept informed on the Italian’s plans for the striker and would be willing to offer them an instant relief on what can only be described as a flop signing.

So, why would Leeds be interested in a flop? Well, it could be a whole different ball game for the player in the Premier League. He clearly has talent and was regarded as one of the best young prospects in the game only a few months ago. If a deal could be agreed it is highly unlikely to be a permanent one as it seems the Italian giants are prepared to give him time.

Paolo Maldini, AC Milan’s technical director said, “He is suffering, it is a different environment with different pressures, he has more knowledge than before. We signed a five-year contract with Charles not five months, we are waiting for him, just as we are waiting for [Divock] Origi. They have everything to be decisive. We have had many examples of players who took a while to understand what is needed to play at Milan.”

Would you be happy if Marsch signed De Ketelaere?
