In an interview with the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani has revealed that we were very close to signing Florian Jozefzoon earlier this summer.

The Whites have been linked with a number of players this summer but it does seem as though we have missed out on certain targets too.

It looks as though that was the case with the former Brentford winger, too, with him instead moving to Derby County instead of coming to West Yorkshire.

Radrizzani revealed:

“We received the contract from the club (Brentford) and we had written approval from the agent. Then, on the way to the medical check here, they change ideas and go to another club.”

Certainly, this isn’t the best thing to have made known as it looks as though sometimes we still can’t get deals over the line.

We were evidently very close to getting him to join but Derby trumped us and hopefully in the final days of the window we won’t see such repeats.

The one consolation is that the change suggests his attitude might be an issue but, even so, let’s not miss out on anyone else in the final days of the window.
