Leeds United lost for the second time in four days as they went down to a 2-0 defeat at Brentford.

First half goals from Romaine Sawyers and Lasse Vibe ensured Leeds returned from London with nothing.

Brentford could have led inside five minutes when Sergi Canos blazed over when in a good position.

The home side went ahead on 19 minutes when Sawyers fired home after Rob Green had done well to keep out a Canos effort.

Leeds had chances to draw level and Kyle Bartley had the best chance when he could only head back across goal when he had a free header at the far post.

Vibe almost doubled the lead when his shot trickled wide of a post and Green did well to deny Canos.

Brentford doubled their lead on 34 minutes when Green kept out a Canos effort but Vibe was first to the rebound to fire home.

The home side were creating chances and Green did well again to deny Canos once again when the winger had got in behind the Leeds defence.

Leeds started the second half brightly and Mo Barrow twice had shots cleared.

Substitute Alfonso Pedraza then got around the back of the Brentford defence before being denied by David Button in the Brentford goal.

Pontus Jansson then had a headed effort cleared after the Swedish international found space at the back post.

Green continued to thwart the home side and he made two good saves to deny Jota.

Vibe then tested Green, who was doing well to keep the scoreline down.

A disappointing defeat for Leeds who must now try and get back to winning ways when former Leeds boss Simon Grayson brings his Preston side to Elland Road on Saturday.
