Leeds United’s Colombian star showed again why he was snapped up by Jesse Marsch in the summer.

Luis Sinisterra scored twice in the space of 3 minutes as Colombia staged a fantastic second-half comeback against Mexico.

The home side took control of the match with an early goal from Alexis Vega from the penalty spot in the 6th minute. It was 2-0 soon after with Gerardo Arteaga doubling the advantage within the half-hour mark. Leeds winger Sinisterra was introduced at half-time and took little time to make his mark. His first came in the 49th when he rose highest to smash home a header from a Juan Cuadrado corner and get his side back in the game.

Just 3 minutes later he picked up the ball just outside the six-yard box after a great cut-back from Jorge Carrascal and smashed his shot off the inside of the post into the far corner. The away side completed the comeback in the 68th minute when Wilmar Barrios dispatched a superb volley from outside the area that nestled into the top corner.

Colombia looked the much better side in the second half and it was the substitutes Carrascal and Sinisterra that completely changed the game. It was also clear to see why Leeds spent over £20m to bring the 23-year-old to Elland Road and on that valuation, he looks to be a real bargain. The Whites were upset to see star winger Raphinha leave for Barcelona but if Sinisterra keeps up his impressive form for both club and country, the Brazilian will be a distant memory.
