Leeds recent dip in league form continued when they was comprehensively beaten at Swindon Town.

Leeds stuck with the same eleven that put up such a fight at Tottenham on Saturday, but they looked a shadow of that side and were probably lucky to get away with just a 3-0 defeat.

Swindon came out of the blocks fast and had Leeds on the back foot from the start.

It came as no surprise when they eventually took the lead just inside fifteen minutes when Charlie Austin gave the home side the lead.

Leeds best chance of the first half probably fell to Howson but his cross shot was turned over the bar by Cuthbert in the Swindon defence.

Just before half time Kisnorbo had a decent chance, his glancing header was steered wide of the post.

Leeds boss Simon Grayson obviously realised he had to change things a bit at half time and brought Michalik and Becchio on for Crowe and Kilkenny.

The Whites started the second half better and Bradley Johnson came closest to equalising but former Leeds keeper David Lucas saved his shot.

The game was over as a contest around the hour mark when Leeds conceded two quick goals.

A shocking pass by Bradley Johnson fell to Jean-Francois on the left and his cross was met sweetly by Paynter who gave Ankergren no chance with his header.

Two minutes later Paynter added a third from the penalty spot after Ankergren was adjudged to have fouled a Swindon player in the area.

Leeds were having no luck at the other end and Kisnorbo hit the bar from close range.

The referee who was shocking all evening then ruled out what looked a perfectly good headed goal from Becchio.

The referee continued to frustrate all from Leeds when he failed to give a penalty when Gradel was fouled in the area.

At the other end Ankergren was a one-man wall in trying to stop Swindon add a fourth after wave of attack after attack reigned in on the Leeds goal.

To compound the defeat even further for Leeds the match sponsors named former Leeds midfielder Jonathan Douglas man of the match.

Douglas had controlled the midfield throughout the night, breaking up Leeds play and always being available for the ball and start another Swindon attack.

Leeds have now taken only one point from the last possible nine and now find themselves three points behind Norwich at the top.

The Johnstone`s Paint Trophy and FA Cup seem to be to much of a distraction for Leeds and personally I would have sooner seen us go out in the first round of both.

We need to concentrate on getting out of League One and the game at the weekend against Colchester is now very important for Leeds to bounce back with three points and get their promotion campaign back on track.
