Leeds Secure Another Late Point After Dugout Drama – Match Stats

|

Today’s early Championship kickoff had Leeds United making the trip to the Riverside Stadium to face fellow promotion hopefuls Middlesbrough.

It was a mixed day in many ways as manager Marcelo Bielsa’s side largely dominated in our usual fashion, but only four of our 17 chances tested the goalkeeper and the hosts took an early second half lead.

Jack Clarke’s substitution at the halftime break was owing to him feeling ill and he was taken to hospital after some treatment from the dugout as a precaution but Bielsa confirmed following the game that he was feeling ‘better’ in the dressing room, so all sounds fine on that score thankfully.

After a significant break leading to 12 minutes of stoppage-time, Kalvin Phillips scored his first goal of the season to draw us level in the 101st minute and that was where the scoring ended.

The point temporarily lifts us back to the top of the Championship table and it’s all eyes to Norwich v Ipswich on Sunday.
