Jack Harrison bid rejected and Leeds given a boost in the pursuit of Ben Brereton Diaz.

According to the YorkshireEveningPost via Twitter, Leeds United have been given a boost in the chase for the signature of Ben Brereton Diaz from Blackburn Rovers as the Chile International has snubbed offers of a new contract at the Championship club. Leeds and Everton are said to be the main clubs involved and Frank Lampard has made the forward his top transfer target. This could spark a bidding war between the two Premier League clubs.

The YEP states ‘Leeds are said to have been given a boost in their reported bid to land Blackburn Rovers star Ben Brereton Diaz after snubbing talks over a new contract at Blackburn, leading to intensifying speculation over a move this summer.’

‘Leeds are said to be interested in a deal for the Chile international, but they are not the only team interested. It has also been claimed that Brereton Diaz is Frank Lampard’s number one target at Everton. We could yet see a transfer battle with only just over a week remaining in the transfer window.’

In other news, Leeds United have rejected a second bid from Newcastle United for winger Jack Harrison. The bid was believed to have been upwards of £20m. Leeds have no intention to let Harrison leave, and see him as a big part of Jesse Marsch’s plans. Leeds are keen to hang on to Harrison after losing Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips already this summer. They have used the money generated wisely to thicken out the squad, and look to be in better shape this campaign.  Starting the season well and remain undefeated after three games, one of which was the 3-0 demolition of Chelsea on Sunday.

The YEP has stated ‘Newcastle have now made a second bid worth ‘in excess of’ £20million for the winger, but the Whites have no interest in losing Harrison this summer. With that in mind, they have swiftly rejected the offer, and they are likely to continue to reject offers.’
