Leeds Referee Controversy Continues

Leeds United boss Dennis Wise has sensationally claimed that Saturday’s referee Danny McDermid swore at him after the final whistle.

Mr McDermid, in only his second season of officiating Football League matches, had already taken centre stage due to the dismissals of both of Leeds strikers, Jermaine Beckford following Tresor Kandol in picking up two yellow cards for somewhat ridiculous reasons, adding Dennis Wise to the ‘sent off’ list at the half time interval.

It now appears however than when the Leeds boss approach McDermid at full time, that words were exchanged of an unpleasant nature. Speaking to leedsunited.com, Wise said: ‘I think it is totally and utterly unacceptable and we as a club will be reporting him,’

‘I have three witnesses who are going to back me up, so well done to the ref, he got the headlines he obviously wanted.

‘The ref has sent me off at half-time because I’ve said something that I shouldn’t have done. But it seems there are two different sets of rules.’
