Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds, Pontus Jansson has come in for praise from former Leeds man Noel Whelan after his performance at the weekend.

The Swedish defender has been excellent since coming back into the side after initial fitness struggles at the start of the campaign.

Indeed, he’s been a powerful, determined figure and that was reflected by his performance against the Bees as he helped yield the all-important equaliser with his head.

It was a passionate performance from the Scandinavian and Whelan was quick to praise him for his display.

He said:

“He is just finding his form, his true best.”

I’ve been very impressed with what I have seen from the defender this year.

He looks close to his best once more and is delivering on a consistent basis. He is loving life at the club once again and I think we could be in for his best season yet in a white shirt.

Long may it continue.
