The hopes and excitement around Manchester City sending us some of their brightest young players look set to be dashed now.

Earlier on this week, we’d seen the idea floated that four young City players could be sent our way by Pep Guardiola thanks to his relationship with our new manager Marcelo Bielsa.

However, unfortunately, the Manchester Evening News has quashed such rumours with them suggesting that a quartet of arrivals will not be happening.

Angus Gunn, Tosin Adarabioyo, Brahim Diaz and Lukas Nmecha were the names involved and it now remains to be seen if the Whites can get any of them in at all.

The Verdict

This is a shame but perhaps to be expected.

Some of these young boys will be good enough to play in the Premier League and City may want them to get experience in one of Europe’s best leagues instead.

They’d have learned a lot under Bielsa but it seems as though at least some of them won’t get the chance now.
