According to The#EFLZone via Twitter, Leeds are willing to listen to loan offers that include a view to a permanent move for Ian Poveda.

The 22 year old right sided midfielder, brought to Leeds from Manchester City by Marcelo Bielsa in January 2020, has never been able to cement a place the first team. He made his Leeds debut on 21 June 2020 as a second-half substitute in a 2–0 Championship defeat at Cardiff City. He was part of the side that won promotion to the Premier League in the 2020/21 campaign, but having only made 18 appearances for the Yorkshire club, he was loaned out to Championship side Blackburn Rovers for the 2020/21 season. The loan was subsequently cut short after a horrific injury forced him to return to Elland Road for treatment and rehabilitation.

According to Transfermarkt he has a value of £1.8m and his style of play is described as nimble and fleet-footed, having trickery and an eye for goal. He plays predominantly as a winger or a forward, capable of playing on both flanks or through the middle as an attacking midfielder or as a false 9.

He certainly looked like a player who could achieve great things, unfortunately, it just hasn’t worked out for him at Leeds and it now seems his time may be up at Elland Road. It is rumoured that MLS teams are monitoring his situation, and both club and player will want the matter resolved before the season kicks off on August 6th.

Would Leeds fans like to see Poveda given a chance in a Jesse Marsch system? Or is it time he was moved on? Let us know in the comments.
