Leeds Nicely Bounce Back Against Burnley – Match Stats

|

After one of the strangest years, and Christmas Days, many of us will have experienced, Leeds United had Elland Road comforts for our festive fixture clash with Sean Dyche’s Burnley side today.

It wasn’t a great game really, but we’d have all watched worse and the main thing for us was in drawing a line under the heavy defeat to the Mancs in our last match, and in keeping a clean sheet across the 90 minutes with Patrick Bamford’s early five minute penalty effort – 1-0 was more than enough to get us back to winning ways and keep the pressure off when it comes to the battle at the bottom of the table.

Burnley had their chances, and slightly more efforts than we did across the game, but ultimately we were relatively comfortable and Illan Meslier didn’t have an awful lot to do, and after the last heavy defeat, playing in that manner with a pretty confident showing was the big bonus.

Onto West Bromwich Albion now and a very winnable game from our perspective.
