Leeds United are on the brink of securing a return to the English top-flight for the first time in 16 years after snatching a last-gasp victory at Swansea City on Sunday afternoon.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have moved three points clear at the top of the Championship and some six points adrift of the dreaded playoff zone, meaning they need only four points from their remaining three games to clinch promotion.

And the Argentine has his super-sub Pablo Hernandez to thank – as he often has done recently – after the Spanish playmaker slotted home the game’s only goal one minute from time.

Are Leeds going up as champions?

Absolutely!

Luke Ayling was set free by Helder Costa and found the 35-year-old veteran near the penalty spot before he drove it past the home goalkeeper as it went in off the post.

He really was the gamechanger and fans were left rather disappointed with the performance from the player he replaced at half-time – Tyler Roberts.

The Welsh forward has been playing the number ten role recently and he put in another subpar display. He managed just 12 accurate passes, failed to register a single accurate long ball and lost possession four times from just 20 touches, via SofaScore.

Which is why the Elland Road faithful watching from home hammered him for being “anonymous” as well as a “passenger.”
