With a decent performance and victory over Burnley in our last match, Leeds United went into this evening’s battle with West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns in good spirits, but at this time of year players are always leggy and that was a concern given our preferred way of playing under manager Marcelo Bielsa.

A concern maybe, but we blew that out the water and had the lead nine minutes in with a comical own goal from Romaine Sawyers.

Just after the half hour mark, Ezgjan Alioski had us 2-0 ahead with a belter and thoughts turned to how big a margin of victory it would be. Particularly as it was 3-0 in minute 36 and then 4-0 with five left in the half.

By those standards, the second half was a disappointment as we only scored once and that went to Raphinha

5-0, incredibly comfortable, could’ve been more but total domination in effect.

Roll on the next one.
