Leeds United are on the brink of another date with Wembley Stadium this season with the Whites taking on Derby later this week in order to make it through.

The Whites have been excellent at times this season and are 1-0 up after a gutsy display at Pride Park where they saw Kemar Roofe get the winner.

And, indeed, that performance from Roofe once again showed why Patrick Bamford is still, for me, short of where we need him to be.

The striker’s performances over recent weeks have not really been good enough but with Roofe once again out he has another chance to show what he can do, though it remains to be seen if he can do it.

Regardless of what happens this season, then, we need another forward to support and challenge Roofe for a starting spot, because Bamford might well be better off not as a leading number nine.

We’ll soon see what Marcelo Bielsa has to say.
