With the September international break slowly winding to a close as real football returns this coming weekend, Leeds United did have a few players out on show for their countries and one man, in particular, had a successful break from club duty.

With a strong and unbeaten start to life at the club for Marcelo Bielsa in the Championship campaign of 2018/19, we have taken 14 points from our opening six games picking up four wins and two draws.

Ezgjan Alioski has more than played his part in that bright start to the year scoring two goals and providing two assists in eight matches including the short-lived EFL Cup run. With his form seeing another call come in from Macedonia, he featured for them in games against Gibraltar and Armenia and he scored in both ties as they took 2-0 victories last week.

The main concern for fans on international breaks is players coming back with a knock or a niggle, but the 26-year-old is going to return in fine form and confidence and that should only help us as we look for a strong September to back up our August start.
