Leeds United’s Sami Saiz left Elland Road for what fans think will have been the last time and headed out to Spanish club Getafe at the beginning of the January transfer window.

The move was explained as being for personal reasons and with the club well aware of those reasons, we quickly accepted a loan deal with his new club and the move went through incredibly swiftly – even if there was a disappointment at how quick events progressed.

The 27-year-old was a fan favourite at the club and he departed with 45 starting appearances to his name in his 18 months with us, and a further 13 showings from the substitutes bench with a few goals thrown in for good measure.

Saiz’s partner, Elena Milla, has now given birth to a bouncing baby daughter and Leeds were quick to send a big bunch of flowers over to congratulate them.

Elena in return took to Instagram to send back their own thanks for the gesture and I’m sure most fans will be happy to see the little exchange.
