Leeds United striker Caleb Ekuban has had a mixed time at Leeds United and he has spent this season out with Turkish side Trabzonspor – in some quarters of the Elland Road faithful though he’s well liked simply for being him.

Having come into the club from Chievo back in the summer of 2017, he boasts 13 starting appearances with eight substitute showings for the club and in that time he’s returned two goals. The 24-year-old’s record isn’t great and few feel it will improve, and most seem to like the fact he tries more than anything.

His spell in Turkey has gone better and he now has four goals and two assists in nine starts and 12 showings from the bench in league action according to Whoscored. That improves slightly with another three goals scored from seven Cup games and his match ratings are pretty impressive. He’s also received his first call up to Ghana’s national side.

Few expect him to return next summer and he’s admitted himself to outlet Fotospor that he will consider his future in the summer, and he’s enjoying his game time.

Given his progress, if reports of a £900,000 buy clause are accurate, chances are we won’t see him again as despite his seeming improvement, I would think Leeds have moved on.
