With massive disappointment for Leeds United as we suffered defeat at the weekend to Charlton Athletic, manager Marcelo Bielsa would’ve been demanding improvement as we faced a West Bromwich Albion side that he had already tagged as our ‘most difficult’ clash of the 2019/20 campaign so far.
West Brom sat pretty at the top of the table and we were looking to get that spot back, and we started brightly, dominating in our usual fashion but chances on target compared to chances overall were a concern until Ezgjan Alioski broke the deadlock seven minutes before the halftime break.
Could we build on it – especially as prior to the goal we lost Liam Cooper?
Well, the answer was no, but it didn’t really matter as we kept the clean sheet so took all three points from the game and top spot was once again ours, although the advantage is only a point with ten games played.
