Leeds make offer for PSG forward

|

Leeds United are plotting to bring in talented French U21 International Arnaud Kalimuendo from PSG.  While most of the whites supporters and English fans in general might not know who he is, fans of Lens will know all about him as he has spent the majority of his early career there on loan.

As reported by the Independent, the whites are hoping to tie up the transfer and have tabled a bid for the young attacker.

The 20 year old has good experience having played over 170 appearances for Paris Saint Germain and Lens combined, the majority with the latter.  He has scored over 40 goals in those spells and looks like someone Leeds are keen to bring in to bolster their attacking options.

Kalimuendo joined PSG in 2012 where he was given his debut with the U19 team in the UEFA youth League at the young age of 16.  He signed his first professional contract with club in 2019 and in September 2020 he made his debut for the PSG first team in a 1-0 loss to Lens.

In October 2020 he signed a contract extension and subsequently joined Lens on a season long loan.  He scored his first goal in a 1-0 win against Dijon on 22 November.

Born in France he is of Congolese descent.  So far, in his young career his honours are a Ligue 1 Title, which he picked up in the 2021/22 season, a third place finish with France in the FIFA U17 World Cup and the Titi d’or in 2020.

Leeds certainly need new attacking options whether it be for a start in the first team or as an option off the bench,  coach Jessie Marsch will be looking to get his squad together before they head off for their pre-season tour of Australia.
