Leeds make major transfer announcement

|

Leeds United have announced an agreement has been reached with Red Bull Salzburg for Danish right back Rasmus Kristensen.

The deal will be completed on the 1st of July 2022,which is the date when clubs can officially register any new players.

Leeds had beaten off stiff competition for Kristensen from two top flight German clubs and the 24 year old agrees terms on a contract that runs until the summer of 2027 for an undisclosed fee. The transfer however is subject to International clearance and a work permit.

Kristensen arrives as the second signing Leeds have made after securing the services of American international Brendan Aaronson, also from Red Bull Salzburg, since the end of the campaign just two weeks ago.

The whites have acted very swiftly to start the building process, and will be looking to massively improve on last season.  A season that saw them finish 17th and narrowly avoid relegation at the expense of Burnley on the final day as they joined Watford and Norwich in the Championship.

It comes as no surprise that Leeds have dipped into the market for defensive reinforcements after conceding a massive 79 goals last term and with only Luke Ayling available as a recognised, experienced right back, it is clear to see they have struggled defensively.

Hopefully Jesse Marsch can assemble a squad that can push on for a top half finish, but who will be next through the door? Where do Leeds need to improve and strengthen?

They must be looking for at least two or three new additions before the season kicks off in August.
