With a disappointing January deadline day for Leeds United as some apparent Swansea City shenanigans foiled our attempts to sign winger Daniel James, manager Marcelo Bielsa had to turn his attentions back to the Championship campaign as we continue fighting with Norwich City for top spot.
Leeds went into the game with a few points advantage in the second tier table but today’s victor would potentially have an advantage come the end of the season will all three points secured.
Five minutes in, the visitors to Elland Road secured a 1-0 lead and had a two goal advantage going into the halftime break. Second half, despite our usual control of the ball and greater chances overall, Norwich added a third and Patrick Bamford’s goal in stoppage-time was nothing but a consolation.
Disappointing yes, but I doubt Bielsa will overreact to the defeat as despite it being the wrong game to suffer a hiccup in, we knew there would be more days like this as the campaign comes to a close.
