Leeds United have been linked to a host of players since the start of the January transfer window and yesterday, the Whites were linked to 20-year-old Belgian U21 international goalkeeper Senne Lammens.

In a transfer rumour that has come from nowhere, according to MOT Leeds news the young goalkeeper could be ‘on his way to Leeds.’

Leeds seem to be in no desire for a new goalkeeper with an abundance of stoppers on the books at Elland Road. Illan Meslier, Joel Robles, Kristoffer Klaesson and Dani van den Heuvel are all part of the plans at the West Yorkshire club. However, recent reports have suggested some top clubs in the Premier League including Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have all shown an interest in United’s number one, Illan Meslier in recent weeks.

Senne Lammens doesn’t look like the player Marsch would go for, with the youngster not having much in the way of experience. With only a handful of appearances for Club Brugges in the league and less than 20 games for the Belgian youth teams combined. Lammens however, has featured in the club’s recent Belgian Super Cup victory. If any move was to materialise for the 20-year-old, it would be unlikely he would slot into the first team set-up anytime soon.

MOT Leeds news states, ‘Taecke adds that Leeds and Brugge are still negotiating when Lammens will make the move so he could either arrive at Elland Road in the current January transfer window or at the end of the season.’

‘Leeds do need to add to their goalkeeping department, however, adding yet another youngster seems odd. Illan Meslier and Kristoffer Klaesson are both in their early 20s while summer signing Joel Robles is at the end of his career pretty much and we don’t ever really expect him to play.’

An odd rumour, but as we all know with Leeds, sometimes these kinds of transfers come from nowhere. I guess it’s a case of watching this space.
