Leeds Increase Gap On Middlesbrough With Latest Victory – Match Stats

|

The month of December is finally here and Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa’s side are sat comfortably in second place in the Championship table and we’ve now eeked out a small buffer on Middlesbrough following our latest victory over Sheffield United.

Heading to Bramall Lane for today’s early kickoff, it was a pretty level affair in many ways. The hosts edged possession and had more chances overall, but in a change from the norm Leeds did more with slightly less of the ball and tested their goalkeeper on far more occasions, so taking the narrow 1-0 victory late on as Pablo Hernandez broke the deadlock after a defensive howler, was probably deserved in reality.

We’ll be more comfortable in the future and draw but nicking games when the aim is promotion is no bad trick to have in football.

Opening a four-point gap on Middlesbrough could come in handy as well as we all know there’ll be a slip-up or two in the months that remain but for now we continue moving forwards looking to eradicate that one-point deficit on Norwich in top spot.
