Leeds Holding Talks With Real Madrid Over 32-Year-old

|

It was being reported over the weekend that Leeds United were in talks with Real Madrid over an audacious move for 32-year-old goalkeeper Kiko Casilla.

The topic of a replacement goalkeeper has been rife amongst fans and on the rumour mill since on loan Chelsea stopper Jamal Blackman suffered a broken leg back in November, and with plenty of Premier League and Championship stoppers linked in the time since, Casilla is certainly a left-field suggestion.

He’s yet to feature for the Spanish giants this season and he has fallen down the pecking order following the arrival of Thibaut Courtois over the summer, but he’s seen as reliable backup at the club and it would be quite a coup if we were to bring him in.

I think plenty of fans will fall for the ‘Real Madrid’ element here, but I’m not that convinced. I still think there are better options available and they won’t need time to settle in.
