Leeds hit Scunthorpe for four as they got their promotion push back on track.

Grayson made one change to the starting line up with George McCartney replacing Ben Parker at left back.

Leeds took the lead with their first real effort on goal after 17 minutes, Sanchez Watt left the central defender for dead with a great turn and smashed the ball past Murphy into the top corner of the net.

It wasn`t long before the lead was doubled when Snodgrass played in Max Gradel and he went round Murphy with ease to make it 2-0.

Leeds made it 3-0 just short of the half hour when Bradley Johnson smashed the ball past Murphy from distance after some poor defending by Scunthorpe.

Leeds were in total control and the Scunthorpe defence just managed to get the ball away when Johnson was ready to tap in.

Becchio then got in a strong header but it just cleared the bar.

Watt almost made it four when he was put through, but he hit his shot straight at Murphy.

Scunthorpe had their first chance on goal after forty-one minutes when Collins saw his flick header go just wide of the post.

Leeds went in three up after taking their chances in the first half of the game.

Leeds made a change at half time with Billy Paynter replacing Luciano Becchio in attack.

Scunthorpe had the first effort of the second half but Schmeichel got down well to keep out the effort.

Watt had Leeds first effort of the second half when his shot was forced away by Murphy.

Leeds were in cruise control with the visitors struggling to get any sort of foothold in the game.

Gradel had another chance for Leeds when a Scunthorpe defender blocked his fierce shot.

Forte had a rare chance for the visitors but his effort went wide of the post.

McCormack had a great chance to add a fourth when he allowed a Scunthorpe defender to get back in when he should have already had a shot on goal.

Forte once again went close for the visitors when his deflected shot came back off the woodwork.

Leeds made it 4-0 late on when substitute Davide Somma got his first goal since October with a clinical finish.

Max Gradel missed a fantastic chance to make it five in injury time but he miscued his shot.

An easy afternoon for Leeds and a first victory in five and their first of 2011.
