With plenty of concern about Leeds United’s Academy graduate Jack Clarke following his collapse during the Championship clash with Middlesbrough the other week, the 18-year-old had been given extended time off to fully recover as our medical staff looked to get to the bottom of the issue and the club have now confirmed the problem.
The youngster was simply suffering from a virus that got the better of him and thankfully it is no more serious than that.
The confirmation was given by Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay ahead of manager Marcelo Bielsa’s press conference yesterday as we continue build up to this weekend’s clash with Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.
Update on Jack Clarke – tests showed he was suffering from a virus. He’s doing indoor gym work this week and will do outdoor work next week, though not with the first team yet. #lufc

With the expectation being that he’d been giving this week off from training, news that he’s already back in the gym building himself up slowly is good news, and again it makes sense that we let him take his time with outdoor work planned for next week ahead of an eventual return to full first team training.
Many will simply be pleased that it was nothing more serious though.
Best possible outcome for Jack. Really pleased!
