Leeds get welcome stroke of luck after weekend misery

|

The weekend hardly went to plan for the Whites as we lost ground in the title race in the Sky Bet Championship and dropped out of the top two.

It’s been a tough, hard-fought season so far for the club and the battle on Saturday summed it up as we lost narrowly to Sheffield United.

There is no cause for panic just yet, though, with a number of big games still to come between now and the end of the campaign.

And, to that end, we’ve actually been handed a slice of luck concerning Pontus Jansson.

What’s lucky about a three-week injury I hear you say? Well, plenty.

Let’s not beat around the bush, here, it’s still not good news but, actually, it could have been far worse.

He looked in serious pain and had to play on through it – albeit partly in goal – potentially aggravating a serious knee knock.

Instead, he will miss just the three weeks – most of which involves the international break.

Indeed, it also means he gets a rest instead of linking up with Sweden and so, hopefully, he’ll return fit and rejuvenated for a crucial part of the campaign.

Yes, it is a blow, but we should actually feel a bit lucky about how and when it has happened.
