Leeds United returned to winning ways to remain at the top of the Championship with a hard-fought 3-2 win against Ipswich Town.

Goals from Pierre-Michel Lasogga, Kalvin Phillips and an own goal from Bartosz Bialkowski helped Leeds bounce back from their first defeat of the season at Millwall last weekend.

Lasogga opened the scoring on 13 minutes when he latched onto a slide rule pass from Conor Shaughnessy to fire into the bottom corner.

The goal stirred Ipswich, who seemed happy to try and frustrate Leeds until the goal and they were level on the half hour when David McGoldrick headed home from close range.

The visitors joy was short lived as Phillips rounded the keeper to make it 2-1 to Leeds, the midfielder latched on to a headed through ball from Samu Saiz, to net his fourth goal of the season.

Leeds went 3-1 ahead halfway through the second half when Bialkowski dropped a Pablo Hernandez corner over his own line.

Ipswich hit strike back to set up a nervy finish when Joe Garner fired home after Felix Wiedwald could only parry a Dominic Iorfa effort.
