Leeds Word On The Tweet

Leeds fans are all saying the same thing about what Patrick Bamford has said

Leeds lost ground in the automatic promotion race when Sheffield United took their chance to score at Elland Road and made it count.

Taking chances is, ironically, something that Patrick Bamford has now come out and said we needed to do at the weekend, as per quotes by the official club website, and fans have all been saying the same thing in response.

The 25-year-old, in particular, had a lot of openings to break the deadlock before the Blades fired beyond Kiko Casilla, but the Grantham-born ace could not make a difference to the result.

It meant he went another game without scoring for the Whites, having played a more creative role at Reading during the week.

The international break will now give Bamford a chance to get to work on the practice pitches honing his skills again to come back firing as a key part of Marcelo Bielsa’s system, while we continue to wait for Kemar Roofe’s return from injury.

The Millwall clash will then give the striker a chance to put his words into action.

“I thought we played really well, we dominated the game and we should have been 3-0 up in the first half,” Bamford claims. “It was one of them where if we didn’t stick our chances away, if we made a mistake they would capitalise on it.

“We felt we should have won, so to not come away with anything is very frustrating. It is done now, we have to carry on and focus on the next game.

“All of the cameras and focus was on this game, but it doesn’t change anything for us. If we had won, we would have still have had to win the majority of the eight games remaining and we still need to do that.

“For once the pressure is taken off us, we are no longer in the driving seat, us and Norwich have been in the top two places, but Sheffield haven’t had that pressure yet, they have always been the underdog and it will be interesting to see how they deal with it.

“The majority of the focus is going to be on the other two teams and hopefully we can do our business and get on with it, with a little less focus.”

When the club later shared the former Middlesbrough man’s comments on Twitter, fans were quick to all sing from the same hymn sheet…
