The chances of Lubomir Michalik returning to Leeds depend on not only Gary Megson deciding if he will let him leave, but also if Leeds can beat competition from two others clubs to sign him.

Megson has said that Michalik will only be allowed to leave Bolton if that suits them, which will definitely not be the case until they are able to bring in a replacement, or two, he said: “There’s interest in Lubomir from three clubs but we aren’t planning to move people on as yet. That might change if we bring in more people, but any deal still has to suit all parties.”

With the Slovakian central defender having already spent a loan period with Leeds last season it would be expected that he would favour a return to Elland Road.

Dennis Wise is keeping his fingers crossed that Bolton can bring in reinforcements so he can make his move, he said: “I’m keeping an eye on the Bolton situation. Hopefully they’ll bring a couple of defenders in and allow me to negotiate bringing Lubo to this football club.”

Wherever Michalik goes it is likely to be nothing more than a loan deal.
