Leeds expected to return to PL giants as search for reinforcements continue – report

Leeds United look set to make their third attempt to sign a Liverpool midfielder this summer as Marcelo Bielsa looks to strengthen his squad ahead of what he will no doubt hope will be a more successful push for promotion than last time.

Having been knocked back in his attempts to sign both Harry Wilson and Ryan Kent this off-season, Bielsa is reportedly expected to turn to Ovie Ejaria in his latest attempt to take a player from the Liverpool academy.

Ejaria was one of two players that had a loan spell at Rangers last year along with the aforementioned Kent, making good use of Steven Gerrard’s connection with his former club, however he only lasted six months in Scotland before returning to Liverpool, chipping in with one goal and one assist – Rangers fans were incredibly disappointed with what they saw from the young man.

He then found himself with Reading where he notched a goal and two assists for the Royals and received a little bit more praise from their fans than he did north of the border.

Although he has been heavily linked with a move back to Berkshire, Leeds United are now being linked with the 21-year-old midfielder by journalist Courtney Friday on Twitter, and with Royals fans seemingly glowing in their appraisals of him following his loan spell at the Madjeski Stadium, it’s easy to see why Leeds may think he could be a viable addition to the squad and hopefully a key player in their push for promotion.

Although his results weren’t the best at either of his two clubs last year on paper, you would hope that being under the watchful eye of a more prestigious and high calibre manager would give the young man a little better shot at producing in the Championship than last year.
