With the words Leeds United and injury again making headlines at the beginning of the week with Kemar Roofe now back on the sidelines, Monday did see some better news on a selection front for manager Marcelo Bielsa as Gaetano Berardi and Stuart Dallas made a return to the Under 23 setup.

Carlos Corberan’s side were in Premier League Cup action at Guiseley and we took a 2-1 victory over Notts County last Friday evening, and having returned to action in that game (30 minute runouts), both players stepped up their recoveries with another match on Monday afternoon, and also came through that with flying colours.

Both built up to the 45 minute mark before being substituted at the half time break and the side wen on to secure a 2-0 victory with goals coming from Jordan Stevens and Robbie Gotts as we restored our four point lead at the top of the Northern section.

Berardi has been out with a hamstring issue since last October and Dallas continues to nurse an ankle issue he picked up in training, after returning in December from the foot fracture he suffered.

Izzy Brown also got the opening half on Monday, following 90 minutes the previous Friday.

At least some good news!
