Leeds United could soon be boosted by the return of striker Caleb Ekuban from injury.

The striker hasn`t featured for Leeds since suffering a foot injury in the win at Sunderland in August, with the Ghanaian requiring surgery but head coach Thomas Christiansen says he is back out on the training ground and he is closing in on joining up with the first team squad in training.

“He`s getting much closer. He`s already gone out on runs and we`re on the last steps for him to join in with the group,” Christiansen told the Yorkshire Evening Post .

Ekuban, who scored on his Leeds debut against Port Vale following his arrival in the summer from Italian side Chievo, will be a welcome addition to the squad with the side having netted just once in their last three games.
