Sheffield Wednesday were one of the first teams to reveal their retained list ahead of the summer and there were a few big names unveiled as set to be off.

Our Yorkshire rivals have had a similarly tough season to us this year and, like us, are probably due a clear out.

One man caught my eye more than most, too, and that was Ross Wallace.

A player who always looks up for a scrap and will try all he can to get the win, he’s the sort of player you can rely on often.

The Verdict

He’s a real tenacious player that’ll hassle and harass the opposition – something we need more of.

I agree, then, with those that are saying he might be worth a look – especially on a free – because we need his kind of desire and industry in our midfield.
