Fresh from the tail of two halves FA Cup third round defeat to Arsenal last Monday, Leeds United were back in action on Saturday and we welcomed Sheffield Wednesday to Elland Road.
The aim for manager Marcelo Bielsa’s first team squad was pretty obvious, get back to winning ways and hopefully open up a gap at the top of the Championship table given we are still tied on points with West Bromwich Albion.
Sadly, we didn’t do that.
A goalless first half with our usual amount of dominance just didn’t turn into goals again and late on in the second half, the visitors made us pay the ultimate price as they got their first two shots on target and passed Kiko Casilla to establish the late 2-0 victory.
Another game we should’ve taken victory from, but how we didn’t even take a point, is beyond me. West Brom sneak ahead by a point again.
