According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, the Whites are looking into signing John Egan from Brentford this summer, though haven’t made an offer as yet.

Egan is a proven performer at this level and, at 25-years-old, is approaching his prime years.

Certainly, he’d be a good asset to bring in but it seems as though for now we are only weighing up the pros and cons instead of putting an offer together.

If we did get him, though, we’d be weakening a play-off rival significantly with Egan one of Brentford’s best players.

The Bees play some great football and if we could disrupt them this way it would surely give us an increased shot at the top six.

The Verdict

Egan is definitely worth having in mind this summer.

Kyle Bartley is the defensive signing we all want to have in this window but if we got Egan in that wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world by a long stretch.
