Leeds Chasing Walsall’s Fox

Leeds United are believed to have made a bid for Walsall’s talented left back Daniel Fox as Dennis Wise looks to boost his squad in January.

The offer, quoted as around the £300,000 mark for the 21-year old was rejected, however as bigger clubs are linked with the Walsall stopper, and his contract finishing in the summer a move in the January transfer window is likely. Wise is expected to look at a left-sided defensive player as the return of Jamie Clapham to Wolves has left the Leeds boss without an experienced player for the role. A renewed bid, possibly permanent for Clapham has so far not been ruled out, and the player has admitted he’d be happy to return to Yorkshire this season: “I had to fight to get in the team, but I’ve enjoyed playing regular football,” he said.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen now. I’ll go back to Wolves, nothing else can be done here until January anyway, and if it doesn’t happen I wish the club and the supporters all the very best for the future.”
