Earlier today it was being reported that Marcelo Bielsa has targeted Brentford winger Florian Jozefzoon as a man to improve our first-team group ahead of the coming 2018/19 Championship campaign.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reported the speculation and the suggestion was that with Brentford apparently confirming that they had accepted a bid from an unnamed club, Bielsa was now weighing up whether or not to get himself involved and try and battle for the 27-year-old.

We are believed to have enquired about him previously but not followed that interest up.

Having come through the Ajax Academy set up, making four appearances for them, he counts NAC Breda, RKC Waalwijk and PSV Eindhoven as previous clubs in the Dutch Eredivisie divisions. He arrived in England, moving to Brentford, back in late January 2017 for an undisclosed fee and he has 37 Championship starting appearances to his name with an overall record of 62 appearances including substitute showings across all competitions. He also returned eight league goals.

Feels like we might be a bit late to the party on this one but it’s fair to say a few fans doubt this piece of speculation on that basis. For others, it’s simply a testament to our overall transfer approach this summer.
