Leeds chase young English prodigy lighting up the EFL – report

|

Leeds have stepped up their pursuit of Portsmouth’s Jamal Lowe but face a battle Cardiff and Wigan, Sky Sports News report.

Lowe was a key part of the Portsmouth side which finished 4th in League One this year, and the 24-year-old could easily step-up to Championship football.

He scored 17 goals and assisted nine in all competitions in his second season at Pompey, after joining from Hampton & Richmond Borough, where he scored 28 goals in 49 games.

It is clear he knows where the net is and at £2 million, could prove to be a real bargain. If it’s one thing Leeds need, it’s goals, and players like Lowe present double investment – both on the pitch and in the pocket.

With today’s admission by Radrizzani suggesting it will be a difficult summer ahead, fans may have to lower their transfer expectations. Whilst we would all love players like Dwight Gayle to join, they are not realistic. Lowe is an exciting prospect; much like Kemar Roofe, he is a player who could thrive under Bielsa, offering pace in attack that goes missing when Roofe is unavailable.

Lowe would offer valuable competition for places, and at £2m it is possible that there could be further additions in the striking department, whether on loan or permanent.
