Leeds bounced back from their first defeat of the season at Millwall on Saturday with a comprehensive victory over Bristol Rovers.

Simon Grayson decided to stick with the side that lost at Millwall and they repaid his faith with an excellent showing that could have quite easily seen them double the margin of victory.

Rovers were lucky to keep eleven men on the pitch inside the first few minutes when Elliott dragged Beckford to the ground when he was going through on goal.

It didn`t take long for Leeds to open the scoring, Doyle played an excellent ball through to Beckford whose shot across the keeper went in off the far post.

Leeds were lucky to not concede half way through the half, Campbell`s long range shot was almost missed by Ankergren, lucky his slight deflection was enough to push the ball onto the bar.

The ball bounced on the line but luckily for Leeds and Ankergren not over it.

Leeds enjoyed the majority of possession in the first half but were reduced to long range efforts, Johnson, Snodgrass and Hughes all having shots clear the bar.

Beckford had two chances to increase Leeds lead on the stroke of half time, the first came after the keeper had spilled the ball, Beckford tried to loop the ball in but didn`t get enough on his shot.

His next chance came after an excellent cross from Vokes, Beckford was charging into the area but just failed to get on the end of it.

In the second half, Leeds upped their game and probably produced their best fourty five minutes of the season with some excellent passing and link up play.

Beckford twice went close to increasing the lead in the early minutes has the pressure built on the home side.

The second goal eventually came after an excellent one-two between Snodgrass and Beckford, Snodgrass pulled the ball back from the bye line and Vokes had the simple task of steering the ball into the net for his first goal for the club.

Leeds were totally dominant and the overworked Anderson in the Rovers goal was being kept very busy.

Snodgrass, Vokes, Howson and Johnson all went close to increasing the lead.

Beckford eventually made it three with a superb finish, Howson`s excellent long ball found Beckford one on one with the defending and after making the defender look silly he coolly slotted in to make it three.

Leeds continued to dominate and Beckford almost grabbed his hat trick minutes later when he cut in from the left, his left foot shot just going wide of the post.

It was almost like an attack versus defence training session with wave after wave of Leeds attacks.

Johnson was unlucky on two or three occasions not to increase the lead further.

Simon Grayson decided to make a few changes inside the final twenty minutes with Kilkenny, Gradel and Kandol all being given a run.

Gradel was playing alongside Kandol in attack and he came close to adding a fourth but the keeper blocked his effort.

Leeds rounded off an excellent night when Gradel cut the ball back from the bye line and Kandol was on hand to tap in the fourth.

An excellent performance and a great response after Saturday sent the following Leeds fans home happy.

Leeds are now four points clear at the top and have increased their goal difference significantly after this result.
