Dennis Wise has been awarded the manager of the month prize, but doesn’t seem too fussed about it!

The 100% record in league one is only held by two clubs, Leeds and current league leaders Leyton Orient, who would be behind The Whites had the Football League not imposed a 15 point penalty on the club.

Speaking to the official club website leedsunited.com it was clear that Wise sees this as somewhat of an insult to himself and to the club, considering the penalties imposed by the league:

‘It’s very nice, but it means not too much to me to be honest.’

‘The Football League? After what they’ve done to us this is like a little tap on the back saying ‘we do apologise, here’s Manager of the Month.’

He finished with a statement that I don’t think is 100% true, as I believe he’d quite happily accept a league, or play-off winners medal:

‘Nothing from the Football League this year will be going near my mantelpiece after what they’ve done to us.’
