Leeds battle for a point

Leeds United battled to a 2-2 draw at Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday night to extend their unbeaten run to three.

Kevin Davies headed Bolton ahead inside fifteen minutes before goals from Sam Byram and Luciano Becchio either side of half time turned the game in Leeds favour.

Davies headed in again for Bolton late on to earn the home side a share of the points.

Warnock made one change from the side that beat Bristol City at the weekend. Adam Drury came into the side in place of Aidy White.

Bolton dominated for much of the first half and deservedly went in front when Davies was too powerful for Rodolph Austin to head the home side ahead.

The home side continued to dominate, Paddy Kenny made a good save, and a desperate block by Jason Pearce in the Leeds defence kept it at 1-0.

Chris Eagles hit a post and Benik Afobe put a chip narrowly wide as it was one-way traffic for the first half hour.

Leeds grew into the game towards half time and Sam Byram shot narrowly wide after good work down the right.

Byram did draw Leeds level just before half time when his glancing header beat Bogdan in the Bolton goal.

If Bolton felt hard done by to be only going in level at half time, it got worse for them early in the second half. Steve Warnock was adjudged to have fouled Byram in the area and Luciano Becchio stepped up to send Bogdan the wrong way for his eighth of the season.

Leeds sat deeper as the half went on and they were eventually made to pay when Bolton levelled following a succession of corners.

Davies was once again too strong for Austin and he powered his header past Kenny.

Leeds almost claimed the three points with almost the last kick of the game when El Hadji Diouf, who was returning to one of his former clubs, saw his shot hit the top of the crossbar.
