Leeds United got their Championship 2018/19 campaign off to a fabulous start at the weekend with a pretty comfortable 3-1 victory over promotion tipped Stoke City.

Welcoming Gary Rowett’s side to Elland Road for the tie, first half goals from Mats Klich and Pablo Hernandez gave us the lead and although Benik Afobe got them on the scoresheet early on in the second half as he struck from the penalty spot, we went on to add the third as Liam Cooper converted a Barry Douglas corner.

All in, quite a good day for the faithful after a summer of concerns.

With a number of highlights from the game in terms of individual performances from the team that manager Marcelo Bielsa put his faith in as he returned his first three points of the campaign, often maligned Kemar Roofe stood out for many.

The statistic show he had three efforts at goals (one on target) and that was the most on an individual front in the 90 minutes, and our 25-year-old also made four crosses and one key pass as he put the legwork in.

Asked for a Man of the Match, Roofe certainly figured highly in a competitive pack of players who impressed.
