Leeds at risk of making early transfer decision and getting it wrong: Opinion

|

According to Football Insider, Lewie Coyle is on the brink of a permanent Leeds United exit this summer after he returns from his loan spell at Fleetwood Town.

The young right-back has been on loan with the Cod Army again this season after spending last campaign there as well and he has been a regular in the side.

Certainly, he has put in some decent performances but that doesn’t appear to have been enough for the Whites with the club apparently willing to listen to offers for him.

And, in truth, that would be a shame.

Whilst I can perhaps understand why we’d let him go – simply because he perhaps isn’t up to scratch for where we need him to be, you do get the sense we’re perhaps giving up on him too soon.

The purpose of him being on loan was to then see him back in the side when he returned – at least for a bit – but we seem set on not giving him that chance.

That is the way the game is, of course, and he should forge a decent career for himself elsewhere, I just wonder whether it’s a bit early to let him go.
