On the day of Leeds announcing the signings of Manchester City winger Jack Harrison and Brighton & Hove Albion centre-back Ben White, some United supporters were still reacting to news of Paul Evans’ departure.

The club had shared their announcement of Evans’ departure late on Sunday night, with the first-team masseur deciding to leave his duties at Elland Road as he looks to pursue a new career opportunity away from the game.

During his playing days, he turned out for sides such as Shrewsbury Town, Brentford, and Bradford City, and made two outings on the international stage at the centre of Wales’ midfield. He now leaves the Whites after six years, and will clearly be missed by some of the players.

Club captain Liam Cooper led the charge of first-team players sharing their thanks for Evans and his work with the club, claiming: “Not only has Evo been incredibly professional and helped us all over the years, but he’s also been a good friend to all of the players and staff at the club.

“Whilst we will miss him, we respect his decision and wish him all the best for the future.”

The likes of Stuart Dallas and Barry Douglas then followed suit with their gratitude for Evans, as they took to Twitter to share their thanks.

“It’s been a pleasure Paul Evans,” Dallas wrote. “Best of luck in whatever you decide to do next. Thank you for everything.”

“All the very best Mr Evo,” Douglas added. “It’s been a pleasure.”

While not every United fan reacting to the news necessarily shared their gratitude for Evans, the club earned a fair few replies…
