Liam Cooper seems to have really grown into his role as skipper this season and he’s certainly making some fantastic comments.

At times the defender has been criticised by some fans for perhaps not being a leader or not being good enough but this year he has been superb so far.

Exemplary on the pitch, he’s also sought to underline the Whites’ ambitions this year and is in no way apologetic in talking up our chances.

Indeed, as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post, he’s come out with a warning for the rest of the league by saying that no side is as fit as ours in the Championship:

“One thing we know this season is that we are fitter than any team in the league and it’s a great feeling to have.

“It’s unbelievable knowing that you are going to run over teams in the second half and if the going gets tough and it’s the last dying stages.”

For sure, this season we have tonked a fair few sides already and we’re looking strong.

We need to have a bit of arrogance and belief back in the side, too, so to see Cooper coming out with this is very good to see indeed.
