According to the YorkshireEveningPost, the Leeds United youth academy is the subject of a new Amazon film.

Youngsters such as Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood and Leo Hjelde are thought to be the subject of the new film, charting the personal and professional lives of the Leeds United development squad. Produced and directed by NEO Studios filmmaker James Scholey, bespoke match footage as well as everyday goings on at the club’s Thorp Arch training ground is set to feature heavily in the finished documentary.

It was set to be released in August but has now been moved, rumoured to be later in the year and will show the Leeds players in the Premier League 2 division 1 campaign.  Club chairman Andrea Radrizzani, the founder of studio NEO, shared a little teaser from the company, which included a brief clip of Crysencio Summerville.

Leeds United were already part of a very successful documentary after the club was featured in ‘Take me home’ which followed the club, and showed behind the scenes footage through the Marcelo Bielsa era in the Championship, and chartered their promotion back to the Premier League. It showed the adversity through Covid and gave an insight into the day to day runnings of the club. It also showed interviews with players, past and present, with fans also giving their views and showing their trips to the game on matchdays.

It is believed the club granted access to cameras towards the end of last season and over the summer in order to shoot with recently departed England international Kalvin Phillips.
